Ginta Ahrel is a counsel and arbitrator based in Stockholm. She specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration and has particular expertise in disputes with parties from Eastern Europe. She also represents clients in court proceedings related to annulment, recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgements.
Ginta is often appointed as arbitrator by parties and arbitral institutions, such as the SCC Arbitration Institute, the Finnish Arbitration Institute and the ICC International Court of Arbitration. She has served as chair, sole and party-appointed arbitrator.
Ginta currently serves as a board member of the SCC Arbitration Institute and the Swedish Arbitration Association. She is a member of the International Bar Association’s Arbitration Committee’s Task Force on Privilege. Until June 2023 she also served on the board of Swedish Women in Arbitration Network.
