Jan K. Schaefer, resident in the Frankfurt office, heads the German dispute resolution practice at King & Spalding LLP. He represents foreign and German clients in complex domestic and international arbitration matters under various rules and laws. Jan also appears before the German courts and has sat as arbitrator in some 70 matters. He studied in Freiburg, London, Utrecht and Singapore (LL.M.). He is a board member of the German Institute of Arbitration (DIS) and the Arbitration Institute of the SCC and was formerly a board member of the Dutch Arbitration Association. He speaks English, German, Dutch and some French.
